Aion 2 System Requirements: Official Minimum and Recommended PC Specs

Updated August 26, 2026 3 min Official specs

Aion 2’s official PC requirements are published, and they are friendlier than an Unreal Engine 5 MMORPG had any right to be: a GTX 1050 Ti clears the minimum bar and a mid-range card from 2019 clears the recommended one. This page lists the official Steam specification for the global version, explains the preset guidance NC attaches to each tier — which says more than the hardware table does — and covers the two things spec tables never mention: what mass battles do to frame rates, and why the global requirements landed meaningfully lower than the Korean version’s.

Specifications below are from the official Aion 2 Steam store page (app 3393110) for the global PC release. Upscaling support (DLSS/FSR), ray tracing and 1440p/4K guidance have not been detailed by NC; this page updates if the listing changes before the September 30 launch.

Official Minimum Requirements

The floor for getting the game running, per the official listing.

Component Minimum
OS Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit)
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 2600 / Intel Core i5-10500
RAM 8 GB
GPU NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB) / AMD RX 470 (4 GB)
DirectX 12
Storage 100 GB (SSD recommended)

NC attaches one telling note to this tier: at 1080p, set the graphics preset to Very Low to stay inside the envelope. Minimum here means genuinely minimal — playable, not pretty.

Official Recommended Requirements

The tier NC positions for a smooth experience.

Component Recommended
OS Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit)
CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3700X / Intel Core i7-11700
RAM 16 GB
GPU NVIDIA RTX 2070 (8 GB) / AMD RX 5700 XT (8 GB)
DirectX 12
Storage 100 GB (SSD recommended)

The preset note repeats at this tier — Low at 1080p for guaranteed compatibility — which is the honest tell about the whole table: these are compatibility guarantees, not quality promises. An RTX 2070 will run Aion 2 well; running it maxed is a different budget, and NC has published no guidance for 1440p, 4K or upscaling yet.

What the Table Doesn’t Tell You

Two realities live outside any spec sheet. First, the SSD line is soft-written and hard-meant. UE5 streams world assets continuously, and Atreia is built for flight — fast vertical traversal across large regions is exactly the access pattern that punishes hard drives with pop-in and hitching. Treat the SSD as required.

Second, mass battles are the real benchmark. The scenes that define Aion — large-scale faction warfare in the Abyss — put dozens of players and their effects on screen at once, and that load is where minimum-tier machines drop from playable to slideshow while comfortable machines merely dip. If PvP is your lane, budget your hardware against the fortress fight, not the tutorial. And if the hardware question is settled but the time question is not, the leveling road to those battles is a solved problem either way — our leveling services run on our machines, not yours.

Why Global Specs Are Lower Than Korea’s

A curiosity worth a paragraph because it is good news. The Korean release’s guidance recommended notably heavier hardware — a Ryzen 5 5600, an RTX 3060 Ti and 32 GB of RAM. The global listing undercuts that across the board, which reflects two things: nearly a year of live-service optimization since the November 2025 KR launch, and a global build that targets PC exclusively rather than sharing a pipeline with the Asian mobile version. Whatever machine you benched against early KR footage, re-check it against the official table above — the bar moved down.

What to Do Next

If your machine clears the recommended tier, the remaining launch prep is calendar, not hardware — the release date page tracks the September 30 Advance Access and what is still unannounced, and the platforms page covers the Steam-versus-PURPLE choice. If you are between tiers, the practical advice is to trust the minimum listing for playability, plan around Low presets, and wait for launch-week reports on upscaling before spending on upgrades NC may make unnecessary.

FAQ

Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, a Ryzen 5 2600 or Core i5-10500, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 1050 Ti 4GB or RX 470 4GB, DirectX 12 and 100 GB of storage, per the official Steam page. NC advises the Very Low preset at 1080p on this tier.
The official recommended tier: Ryzen 7 3700X or Core i7-11700, 16 GB RAM and an RTX 2070 8GB or RX 5700 XT 8GB, with an SSD. NC pairs even this tier with the Low preset at 1080p for guaranteed compatibility.
100 GB of available space per the official listing, with an SSD recommended. Whether the day-one install grows beyond that with launch patches has not been detailed.
NC lists an SSD as recommended rather than required. For an Unreal Engine 5 world with streaming assets, treat it as effectively mandatory for comfortable play — hard drives will mean texture pop-in and long loads.
If the laptop matches the minimum tier — a 1050 Ti-class GPU or better with 8 GB RAM — it will run at 1080p on low presets. Mass PvP scenes are the stress test where thin-and-light machines will struggle most.
Yes, notably lower. KR guidance recommended a Ryzen 5 5600, an RTX 3060 Ti and 32 GB RAM; the global listing recommends a 2070-class GPU and 16 GB, reflecting months of optimization and a PC-focused global build.
